What is Blip?
Blip is a geo-social tool that allows you to interact with people that you know in a new way. It is an application that tells you where people in your social circle are located. In some cases, these people will be friends and family, and in other cases business associates.
Why Blip?
Blip gives value to you that will improve your life’s efficiency and enjoyment. How many times have you caught yourself wonder where someone was, or more importantly, needing to know? Blip helps you with situations like these but also gives you knowledge about where your circle of contacts are. When you want, you can become more spontaneous with social interaction when on the move and hook up with someone you know who is nearby. Knowledge is power.
Who is BlackLine targeting with Blip?
BlackLine is targeting consumers and commercial sectors with this application. The functionality of the application is robust and broad that both types of use will draw many benefits. For example, if you are a travelling business person, publishing your location enables others in your team to know where you are and plan accordingly. In some cases this will enable new meetings to be booked nearby or information can be used within trip reports. There are many uses.
What do I need to use Blip?
For the most complete experience, you require a GPS-eabled BlackBerry smartphone. Create an account on our site and download the Blip application to your BlackBerry device. It only takes a few minutes to get up and running. Users of BlackBerry smartphones without GPS technology, but with operating system 4.2 or higher, you can still participate in the experience. Your smartphone can be used to track others who have GPS-enabled BlackBerry devices and can also interact with our GPS Snitch vehicle security and trackig system.
What does Blip do?
Blip saves you from having to phone around to answer questions such as where are you? When will you be back? or When will you be leaving? It also allows you to see where people in your peer group are located. What you do from there is your choice; in some situations you may spontaneously get together with a friend or colleague and at other times enjoy what you’re up to separately.
How does Blip work?
Blip utilizes GPS technology within GPS-enabled BlackBerry smartphones. You control the publishing of your location to BlackLine’s servers via the Blip application. Friends, co-workers, and family who are also Blip users each control their own location publishing. By creating a sharing network, our servers give access to the locations of people in your network. Each person controls their data and to whom they share. These permissions can be changed at any time.

Can I navigate with Blip?
Blip was not designed to provide you with turn by turn navigation capability. You may use the GPS technology within your GPS-enabled BlackBerry smartphone and the BlackBerry Maps application to navigate. There are also other well-suited products if you wish to supplement your BlackBerry device with navigation capability.
Can I use Blip for commercial applications?
Absolutely. Blip is designed for both consumer and commercial applications.
