GPS Snitch assists in 24 hours of Adrenalin

It’s always great when GPS Snitch is able to assist a friend in a new endeavor! Sean Blanchette and his team (Team Lucy) just competed in the 24 Hours of Adrenalin this past weekend in Canmore, Alberta. For those of you unfamiliar, the 24 Hours of Adrenalin is a mountain bike relay race. The baton is passed from one rider to the next on the completion of each lap for 24 continuous hours.

Sean Blanchette

Sean was competing in the race for the first time and seeking insight; questioned some experienced participants. Sean found that “the recurring issue was the wait time for the next rider. If a rider was slow, or had a flat tire, the waiting rider could end up standing for over half an hour.” This was unacceptable for Sean and with his knowledge GPS Snitch, sought BlackLine out to assist him and his team in this endurance competition.

Since the Race was held in the Kananaskis, “there was no power for devices like laptops.” Sean needed a mobile & power smart solution for viewing and requesting of GPS Snitch location data. Luckily the team here at BlackLine GPS has been hard at work on some very new Snitch Beta software for the BlackBerry Pearl. With the new software, his BlackBerry Pearl and GPS Snitch, Team Lucy and Sean were able to pass the baton and Snitch each lap and “never waited more than 5 minutes at the waiting area.”

Sean was also pretty happy with the post mission analysis, “As an added bonus, once the race was over, we were able to check the GPS history and take a look at things like course length, speed and elevation using Google Earth.”

BlackLine would like to send congratulations out to Sean and Team Lucy for competing and finishing this endurance race.

Watch out for BlackLine on your back tire next year!

Alberta Wireless Trade Mission to San Diego

This past week BlackLine GPS had the opportunity to represent Calgary, Alberta in a Wireless trade mission to San Diego, California. As part of this mission we were able to exhibit at the CommNexus GadgetFest and participate in a meet and greet with the best of the wireless industry.

The trade mission was an opportunity for leading technology companies from Alberta to showcase achievements on a worldstage. This trade mission was graciously sponsored by the Consulate of Canada in San Diego with the support of WiTec Alberta. Over the course of 2 days we had the opportunity to showcase our new wireless technology GPS Snitch. The feedback from industry peers on our design and integration was quite overwhelming to say the least and the response has reaffirmed the hard work we have put into this great product.

Thank you to everyone at the Consulate for all their hard work and efforts. We look forward to visiting beautiful San Diego again and we will gladly jump at any opportunity to trade -40 weather for +18!

Cheers,

Jim

From SEMA

BlackLine Exhibit at the SEMA Show

Good morning from the SEMA Show 2006!

For those of you not able to attend the SEMA Show, the image above shows our presence at this spectacular event. For those of you who are not familiar with the SEMA Show, we encourage you to check it out.

We have formally launched GPS Snitch at the SEMA event, which has coincided with certification of our wireless tracking and vehicle security device on the Rogers Communications GSM network. This final certification, in addition to our prior PTCRB approval, marks the completion of a very successful R&D program and the beginning of our marketing phase.

We’ll keep in touch as the show progresses and aim to post some more interesting pictures.
