Cody Slater, Chairman and CEO
Mr. Slater founded BW Technologies (now a subsidiary of Honeywell) in 1986, a global manufacturer of industrial and commercial gas detection devices with a product line of more than 30 unique instruments. From the Calgary head office, Mr. Slater grew the company's operations to include offices throughout the world. Mr. Slater's impact on one of the country's Fastest Growing Technology companies was well recognized. Mr. Slater's achievements have garnered numerous awards including Canada's Top 40 Under 40, Alberta's Most Influential Top 50 People, Ernst and Young's Entrepreneur of the Year, and the Certificate of Merit for Business Excellence by Industry, Science, and Technology Canada.
Clark Swanson, President and Director
Mr. Swanson, previously held an executive position for SourceCode Technology Holdings, Inc., a global software firm headquartered in Redmond, Washington. Mr. Swanson has also served as Executive Vice President of Universal Studios based, White Eagle Productions, and Director of Immedient Corporation, a software services company headquartered in Mountain View, California. Mr. Swanson holds a degree in Economics from Pepperdine University and also graduated honors from the Graziadio School of Business & Management with an MBA, emphasis in Finance.
Michael Hayduk, Director
Consulting lawyer with Smith Mack Lamarsh since January 2007, Mr. Hayduk has been a practicing lawyer since 1978. His practice has focused on commercial, corporate and securities law since 1981 when he joined the Alberta Securities Commission and from 1987 to 2006 when he practiced at Miller Thomson LLP. Mr. Hayduk is also a director of Valentine Ventures Corp. a capital pool corporation.
Dr. John Finbow, Director
Dr. Finbow has been involved in several start-up companies as an investor, director, and consultant both in the USA and the UK. Dr. Finbow was the former Chairman of BW Technologies Ltd. until the sale of the company to First Technology in 2004. Prior thereto, Dr. Finbow was a founding member of City Technology Ltd., a company designed to manufacture a range of electrochemical gas sensors. He assumed the role of CEO in 1989 and oversaw the management buyout of the company in 1993 for $50 million followed by its successful IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 1996 with a valuation of approximately $170 million. Dr. Finbow retired from City Technology Ltd. in 1999. He is a graduate from the University of London with a degree in Chemistry.
Robert J. Herdman, Director
Mr. Robert J. Herdman, FCA Director. Mr. Herdman is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and was formerly a senior partner at Price Waterhouse and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Calgary serving that firms largest Calgary based public clients with extensive experience in a number of industries including manufacturing, utilities, transportation, mining, oil and gas and financial services. After enjoying a 34-year career with the firm, Mr. Herdman retired from practice in 2010. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of: Chinook Energy Inc., SemBioSys Genetics Inc., Blackline GPS Corp. and Western Financial Group Inc. He is also a member of the Governors of the Glenbow Museum. He recently completed a six year term on the board of governors of the Chartered Accountants Education Foundation and has served on a number of other committees overseeing the practice of accounting in Alberta and as a director for a number of not for profit organizations. Mr. Herdman graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary.
