Blackline GPS Equips The American Red Cross with Vehicle and Individual Tracking Services and Logistical Support
Calgary, Alberta, CANADA – November 19, 2009 – Blackline GPS, The American Red Cross and ESCORT are pleased to announce a partnership to implement a tracking system and emergency service management for American Red Cross vehicles and personnel in the National Capital Region. This platform will be monumental for efficient communication, dispatch of aid and distribution of resources in a disaster or emergency situation.

The American Red Cross of the National Capital Region is on call 24 hours a day 365 days a year to respond to disasters affecting the region's estimated 5 million inhabitants. On average the Red Cross responds to one disaster every day. Tracking vehicles and personnel is crucial as they react to all varieties of disasters and community situations.
The American Red Cross recognized the benefit of a system capable of tracking mobile assets and personnel in disaster and non disaster situations for accountability and safety. "We found the Escort Entourage CIS™, powered by Blackline GPS, could offer the American Red Cross an integrated solution. The ability to track the vehicles and personnel of the American Red Cross in real time and see where they are in one view or isolated separately empowers our call center to dispatch resources more efficiently to reach our emergency supplies and deliver those faster to people in need," said Ian Sterne, Systems Coordinator for Response Technology for the American Red Cross.
