PRESS RELEASES - Blackline’s Escort
Entourage CIS
May 14, 2009
Blackline GPS Corp. announces agreement with Reliance Protectron
Security Services for vehicle recovery services
Calgary, AB - Blackline GPS Corp. (TSXV: BLN)
(“Blackline” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce it has
entered into an agreement with Reliance Protectron Inc.
(“Reliance Protectron”). Under the agreement, Reliance
Protectron will monitor and recover stolen vehicles and
watercraft installed with Blackline’s security, monitoring and
recovery products, the first of which will be the Escort
EntourageTM CIS launching in July. Reliance Protectron is the
fifth largest security monitored account base in North America
with four ULC Certified monitoring centers located across
Canada, and is a member of the North American CSAA (Central
Stations Alarm Association).
“Blackline provides the first affordable and
easy to use early response to theft of a vehicle” said Patrice
De Luca, Vice-president of Marketing and Business Development
for Reliance Protectron. “We are pleased to be able to offer
existing and new customers alike the option of 24/7 monitoring
for their vehicles, just as they have entrusted us to protect
their homes and businesses.”
“Blackline recognizes that vehicle monitoring
and recovery is first and foremost about customer peace of mind”
said Clark Swanson, President & CEO of Blackline. “Partnering
with a professional security company like Reliance Protectron
gives our customers a level of confidence in the monitoring and
recovery service we believe cannot be achieved by our
competitors who use their own staff, or an out-sourced call
center, as a cost saving mechanism.”
About Blackline’s Escort Entourage CIS
Blackline’s Escort Entourage CIS is the most
effective installed security protection for your vehicle. It
combines always-on cellular communication, state-of-the-art GPS
technology, tamper-sensing capability, automated arming and
disarming, instant e-mail and text message alerting, and the
Blackline GPS Recovery ServiceTM provided by Reliance Protectron,
delivering the ultimate vehicle security peace-of-mind.
Unlike most competitor products, which are
passive devices that require the customer to alert the police,
device manufacturer or both, that a vehicle has been stolen
prior to recovery, the Escort Entourage CIS is a pro-active
vehicle recovery device. The device automatically alerts both
the customer and Reliance Protectron of a theft in process so
that a recovery can be initiated immediately. This substantially
increases the likelihood and timeliness of recovery which is
critical to reducing potential vehicle damage.
The Escort Entourage CIS further
differentiates itself from the competition because it is more
than just a recovery device. The Escort Entourage CIS is
designed to enhance the driving experience and peace-of-mind of
a vehicle owner through the interactive use of the device. The
customer can monitor the vehicle in real time using their web
browser or Blackline’s BlipPlusTM mobile application for
smartphones. The customer can review the history of the device
for up to six months including location, time, heading and speed
providing value for the driver wanting to review their recent
trip or the concerned parent wanting to monitor their young
driver.
“Providing customers with a device that has
everyday uses, and can be shared to friends, family or
coworkers, has tremendous value” said Clark Swanson. “As the
only vehicle monitoring and recovery provider with a retail
presence, we are uniquely positioned to provide a quality
driving experience and peace-of-mind to our customer base.”
“I am very excited to add Reliance Protectron
to the circle of partners that Blackline is developing which
began with Escort Inc.” said Cody Slater, Chairman of Blackline.
“Blackline continues to execute on its core philosophy of
relationship synergy and we look forward to future announcements
as other partners recognize the value that Blackline brings to
their businesses.”
